BTW, I am switching to .mp4; I am giving up on X264; I am feed up of getting textures poorly compressed.

There was a time when there were very few Latinas in Hollywood. There weren’t even many Latin actors either for that matter – only Anthony Quinn comes to mind – but all that seems to have changed in the last twenty years or so. Now there are many Latina beauties to brighten up our screens.

The early days of Hollywood seemed to be entirely taken up with Anglo actors – there wasn’t much in the way of black, Asian, or even Jewish talent on the silver screen. Now with the rise of the economic and political voice of Latin people, we don’t have to watch films from Latin America or Spain, or even just give up altogether and play Party Poker or go fishing. So here is a hand full of the loveliest of lovely Latinas.

Jennifer Lopez
J-Lo may not have quite the same level of celebrity as a few years ago, but she is still way hot and should be respected for the way she opened up so many doors for Latinas in music and film. Though they may be divorced now, she was also married to a legend of latin music, Marc Antony, for which she deserves respect too. Finally, how could we forget: her bubble butt, which arguably changed global attitudes to what is beautiful.

Penelope Cruz
The muse of Pedro Almodóvar and it is easy to see why. Apart from her curvaceous body, she has the most lustrous locks worn by any star. She is a very versatile in her roles, and will work with anyone from directors of Art House to Hollywood blockbusters. It’s no wonder that she is often known as the Spanish enchantress.

Eva Mendes
Over the last few years, Mendes has hit our screens like a latina bomb. Getting her break on ER, and then moving into the big time opposite Denzel Washington in Training Day she hasn’t looked back. And neither have we.

Eva Longoria
Not only is Eva a very good looking woman, her role as Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives has shown us that she has a very feisty and slightly eccentric character too. Although the move to movies hasn’t been quite as smooth as we would like, we look forward to see Eva brighten up our screens in the future.

Salma Hayek
Having been born in Mexico to a Lebanese-Mexican father and an opera singing Mexican mother, she was actually brought up in Latin America rather than many of our stars. Since then she has shown she has style and sexiness and doesn’t forget her Mexican roots either (check out Frida).
